The light-dependent reactions occur on the thylakoid membrane embedded with specialized integral protein complexes or photosystems, which work together and give ATP, NADPH and oxygen molecule. The pigments present in the photosystems absorb photon of light. The photons excite electrons in the chlorophyll which then move through the electron transport chain and causes NADP- to combine with H+ forming NADPH. Cytochrome b6f and ATP synthase together create ATP.
