227 is a rational number as is defined a ratio of 2 integers (non-zero denominator).

Many people confuse π with 227. We are taught in schools that π=227. What they should actually teach is π≈227. π is irrational. It cannot be represented as a ratio of 2 integers(with non zero denominator).

π = 3.14159265358979323846…(irrational i.e. non-terminating non-terminating real number)
