Note: one of the devices used by poets is alliteration − the repetition of speech sounds in a sequence of nearby words e.g. in W.H.Auden’s poem “O’ Where Are You Going?” the last stanza makes prominent use of this device:
“Out of this house” − said rider to reader,
“Yours never will” − said farer to fearer,
“They’re looking for you” − said hearer to horror,
As he left them there, as he left them there.
