Here, LHS$=$RHS. Therefore $x=8$ is a solution.

For, $x=20$ LHS $$\begin{gathered} =20+12 \\ =32 \end{gathered}$$

Here, LHS$\ne$RHS, Therefore, $x=20$ is not a solution.

For, $x=0$, LHS $$\begin{gathered} =0+12 \\ =12 \end{gathered}$$

Here, LHS$\ne$RHS. Therefore ,$x=0$ is not a solution.

Hence ,$x=8$ is the solution of the given equation.
