The alpha helix (α-helix) is a typical concept in the secondary architecture of proteins and it is in the form of the helix (spiral configuration) in which whole backbone N−H group donates a hydrogen bond to the backbone C=O group of the amino acid located three or four residues previously forwarded in the protein sequence.
