Tissue is defined as a group or collection of same types or different types of cells to perform a common function.
Plants has two types of tissues called meristematic and permanent tissues.
Meristematic tissues consist of living cells that are located at specific sites like tips of shoot and roots, base of nodes, internodes and leaves, also on the sides of roots and stem which undergo continuous division.
Permanent tissues are dead or living cells formed from meristematic tissues which have lost their ability to divide and have specific function.
