Plants containing chlorophyll reflect green light and absorb red and blue light, and hence, appear green in colour. While some plants do not appear green due to​​​​ loss of pigmentation, absence of pigment chlorophyll or presence of pigments like xanthophyll and chromatophores, thereby, producing different colours.
