Question

Question 69
Plants have low energy needs as compared to animals. Explain.

Solution

Plants do not move. The movements in a plant are at a cellular level. In a large plant body, there are many dead cells like sclerenchyma, because of which, it overall requires less energy. Animals, on the other hand, need more energy to move from one place to another in search of food and other activities like predation, mating, shelter, etc.
