Solution

The correct option is B Hypertonic solution
Plasmolysis is the shrinking of the protoplasm as a result of water loss from osmosis when a cell comes in contact with a hypertonic solution.
A cell gets reduced in size when placed in a hypertonic because a hypertonic solution has lesser concentration of solvent molecules than the fluid inside the cell so the solvent molecules are forced outside the cell from the region of higher concentration to the lower concentration by the process of exosmosis. The cell turns flaccid.
So, the correct answer is option B.
