Solution

For successful fertilisation, pollen grain that is fertilising the ovule of a flower should belong to the same species to which the fertilising flower belongs. Pollination will occur but fertilisation does not occur if pollen of a flower and ovule of a flower belongs to different species and this is known as incompatibility.
