Solution

The correct option is C Candidiasis
Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by yeasts belonging to the genus Candida. A polyene antifungal is a macrocyclic polyene which it is amphiphilic. The polyene antimycotics bind to sterols (ergosterol) in the fungal cell membrane, resulting in a change in the transition temperature of the cell membrane. Hence the membrane is placed in a less fluid, more crystalline state due to which the cell's contents along with ions and small organic molecules leak out killing the pathogen. Thus the correct answer is option C.
