Pottery makers create different types of dishes and pots using clay. Molding of clay is ________change.
Physical
Molding of clay is a physical change.
To find out whether something is a physical change, we just need to ask ourselves 'Is it still the same thing?' Water is liquid. If you freeze it, it becomes a solid. It's solid now but it's still water. It's the same thing. We call this solid water 'ice'. Similarly, when we have clay and a potter moulds it to make a pot, it's still clay! It's just a solid form of clay but it's still the same thing. So, it's a physical change.
