PQRS is a parallelogram with altitude PM on base SR and SN is the altitude on base QR. If SR=8.2 cm, PM=4.8 cm and SN=6 cm. What is PS?

Given:
SR=8.2 cm
PM=4. cm
SN=6 cm

Let us denote area of parallelogram PQRS by A.

By considering base SR and altitude PM,
A=PM×SR
=8.2×4.8
=39.36 cm2

Now, by considering base QR and altitude SN,
A=SN×QR
39.36=6×QR
QR=6.56 cm

As we know that the opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal so,
QR=PS=6.56 cm
