Question

Practically how is it possible that a car have a uniform motion on a road with friction even without traffic?

Open in App
Solution

An car would have 'uniform motion' when it travels with same constant velocity or doesn't have acceleration. that means if car's engine applies the force equal to friction force of the road so that net force of car would be zero. Net force of car = applied force by engine - friction force , to make car move with constant velocity(uniform motion) , acceleration of car should be zero. or net force on car = m*a = m*0 =0 . so to make net force zero, applied force by engine = friction force. that way car can move uniform motion.
