Solution

Blood transfusion and precautions:

  1. The transfer of the blood from one person to the other person is known as a blood transfusion.
  2. Once the blood is collected from the donor, the blood is tested for possible infectious agents such as HIV and hepatitis.
  3. The blood from the donor is cross-matched with the patient’s blood sample to check its compatibility.
  4. The blood is transferred only after the matching of the donor's blood with the receiver's blood.
  5. Clotting test is also performed before the transfusion of the blood.
