Preeti describes a fabric as following:-
(a) It wrinkles easily.
(b) It absorbs water quickly.
(c) It is soft to touch.
(d) It is a plant fibre.
Which of the following fibres mentioned below can form such fabric?
Cotton
Cotton is the fibre which forms the desired fabric. Cotton is a natural fibre (plant fibre) which is obtained from fruits of the cotton plant called the cotton balls. It wrinkles easily and absorbs water quickly due to which it is the most preferred fabric to wear in summers because during summers we tend to sweat a lot and cotton fabric absorbs this sweat and helps the body to cool down.
Wool and silk are natural fibres but they are obtained from animal sources.
Nylon is not obtained from plant or animal sources and it is a synthetic fibre.
