Pregnancy begins with implantation of_____
Blastocyst
The term "implantation" is used to describe the process of attachment and invasion of the uterine endometrium by the blastocyst. Fertilization takes place in the fallopian tube and the division of the zygote starts immediately. By the time the zygote descends down to the uterus, it is transformed into a ball of cells called blastocyst. At this stage, it gets attached to the wall of the uterus (implantation).
