Present ages of Shreya and Kavita are in the ratio 3 : 4. Five years after the ratio of their ages will be 4 : 5. Find age of Shreya.

Let the present age of Shreya $=3a$ and age of Kavita $=4a$.
After 5 years, age of Shreya $=3a+5$ and age of Kavita $=4a+5$.
Given, $3a+5:4a+5=4:5$
$=>\frac{3a+5}{4a+5}=\frac{4}{5}$
On cross multiplying,
$15a+25=16a+20$
$a=5$
Hence, present age of Shreya $=3a=15$ years and age of Kavita $=4a=20$ years.
