Let $n$ be the required numbers of years

Present Age of Vatsala $= 14$ , Present age of Sair $= 10$

Age After $n$ year - Age of Vatsala $= 14 + n$
Age of Saira $= 10 + n$

$14 + n : 10 + n = 5 : 4$ (Given)

$5 : 4$

By cross multiplying,
$(14 + n) 4 = (10 + n) 5$

$56 + 4 n = 50 + 5 n$

on simplifying we get $n = 6$ .
