Given:
The initial radius of the sphere (r1) = 5 cm
The final radius of the sphere (r2) = 2.5 cm

Surface area of a sphere of radius r is given by:
A=4πr2

Pressure (P) on a body is given by the ratio of thrust to the area (A) of a body.

Using (i) and (ii),
P1r2
P2P1=r21r22

Substituting the values, we get:
P2P1=52(2.5)2
P2P1=22=4
