Question

Prikshit makes a cuboid of plasticine of sides 5cm, 2cm, 5cm. How many such cuboids will he need to form a cube ?

Open in App
Solution

Volume of the cuboid = length x breadth x height

= 5 x 2 x 5 = 50 cm^3

To get the side of the cube, we have to find out the LCM of 5,2,5

LCM of 5, 2, 5 = 5x2=10

Hence side of the cube = 10cm

Volume of the cube = (side)^3 = 10^3 = 1000 cm^3

therefore no. of cuboid required to form the cube = Vol. of the cube/Vol. of teh cuboid

= 1000/50 = 20 Ans.
