Solution
The correct option is B Apophysis of capsule of moss Stomata are minute elliptical shaped microscopic pores present on the epidermal layers of the leaves, stems or other vegetative parts in land plants which involve in exchange of gases for photosynthesis. These have two specialised epidermal cell called guard cells. In cases of mosses, the exchange of CO2 and O2 happens mainly by diffusion through the surface of lamellae. However, in the case of liverworts, this takes places through pores and in the case of hornwort and true mosses this is through stomata on the capsule of the sporophyte. The stomata are absent on the leafy part of the gametophyte.
