forecasters began to experiment with Doppler radar. What do you think is the advantage of
using Doppler radar?

Doppler radar works on the principle of Doppler effect.
Doppler radar can detect small amplitudes of moving objects along with the large amplitudes of stationary background objects. As such, this radar is capable of giving velocity data of the object also.
