Let the number of chocolates with Shriya be x.

Given, Priya has three times the number of chocolates as Shriya does.

Number of chocolates with Priya
=3×x=3x

Given, total number of chocolates with both of them =36

x+3x=36

Thus, the number of chocolates with Shriya =9.
