Solution

Waste is wealth, if managed properly. It is beneficial depending on how it is managed and utilised. It can be explained by following few example:

  • In some urban areas wastes like metallic containers are used by small smiths to make paraffin candles, children toys and simple cans.
  • Plastic wastes can be collected and made into marketable products like baskets, ornaments, mats etc.
  • Milk packaging material are being used by nurseries for transporting seedlings.
  • Banana peel and some other fruit and plant left overs are used as feed for poultry and livestock.
  • Biodegradable waste can be used to make compost.
  • By managing and utilising waste in efficient way we can not only reduce pollution but can also derive immense use from the waste.
  • Hence, we can say that waste is a misplaced wealth.
