Solution
The correct option is A Hydrogen bonds
The water molecules have the property of adhesion to the cell wall. Adhesion force is the force which is present between unknown molecules. The water molecules are cohesive and form intermolecular hydrogen bonds. The adhesive interaction takes place between polar groups of the water molecules and the cell wall. Cell wall has cellulose has electronegative oxygen in it. The oxygen gets covalently attached to the hydrogen atom.
In a hydrogen bond, the electron donors are hydrogen atoms. The electron negative atoms exert the electric field and attract the electrons from the hydrogen and get negative charge while hydrogen gets a positive charge.
