Solution
Digestion of protein:
Protein digestion starts in the stomach of alimentary canal.
The inner wall of stomach secretes gastric juice which contains an enzyme called pepsin.
Pepsin converts proteins into peptones.
Further digestion of protein occurs in the small intestine.
Pancreatic juice secreted by the pancreas is released to the duodenum of small intestine.
Pancreatic juice contains protein-digesting enzyme called trypsin which digests the partially digested proteins and converts them into amino acids.
Amino acids are the final product of protein digestion.
