$\Rightarrow 4\cos x\cos (\frac{\pi }{3}+x)\cos (\frac{\pi }{3}-x)$

$\cos (A+B)\cos (A-B){\cos }^{2}A-{\cos }^{2}B$

$\Rightarrow 4\cos x[{\cos }^2\frac{\pi }{3}-{\sin }^{2}x]$

$\Rightarrow 4\cos x[\frac{1}{4}-1+{\cos }^{2}x]$

$\Rightarrow -3\cos x+4{\cos }^{2}x$

$\Rightarrow \cos 3x$
