Prove that electromagnetic induction is conservation of energy in nature?

Open in App
Solution

Step1: Explanation for Electromagnetic Induction:

  1. It is a current produced because of voltage production.
  2. It is produced due to changing magnetic field.
  3. It is also produced when a conductor is placed in a moving magnetic field.
  4. And it is also produced when a conductor is constantly moving in a stationary magnetic field.

A diagram to represent the electromagnetic induction:

Electromagnetic Induction and Faradays Law

Energy conservation:

  1. It is the choice and experiment of using less energy.
  2. It is the amount of energy that is neither created nor destroyed.
  3. When we hit the wall then the kinetic energy is converted to potential energy.

Step 2: Prove for conservation of electromagnetic induction in energy:

Electromagnetic induction is the conservation of energy in nature.

So, when the resistance is R is assumed in the loop.

Then the current i flowing in the loop is,

i=ε0R=BLVR

Where, B is the magnetic field, L is the length of the rod and V is the velocity.

Now, the rate of E.D. is

P=(iLB)V=B2L2V2R=ε02R

which is equal to the power P dissipated heat in overcoming the resistance.

Therefore, mechanical energy is converted by electrical energy.

Hence, electromagnetic induction in the conservation of energy in nature.
