Iagine that you are drawing a circle with a compass. Increase the radius on your compass and keep drawing circles of larger and larger radii. You can never draw a circle large enough that has an arc in it that looks like a straight line. In order to get an arc of a circle to look like a straight line segment you will have to draw circle of infinite radius.

This suggests that a straight line is a circle with radius = infinity
