Question

Prove that the points (-2, 5), (0, 1) and (2, -3) are collinear.

Open in App
Solution

Let the points be A(-2,5) B(0,1) C(2,-3)
Points are collinear if the slope of AB = slope of BC
slope of AB = 150+2 = 42= -2

Slope of BC = 3120 = 42= -2
Slope of AB = Slope of BC
Hence the points are collinear.
