Puja is the owner of a farm shown in the figure. She goes to the market to buy fencing wire for the field. Calculate the minimum length of the wire to be bought by Puja so that the entire farm is covered.

The correct option is B 70 m

Minimum length of the wire to be bought by Puja so that the entire farm is covered is equal to the perimeter of the entire farm.

Perimeter of the farm = Sum of all sides = AB + BC + CD + DE + EF + FA

= 10 + 5 + 5 + 20 + EF + FA

Now, from the given figure,

AF = DE - BC = 20 - 5 = 15 m, and

EF = AB + CD = 10 + 5 = 15 m

∴ Perimeter of the farm = 10 + 5 + 5 + 20 + 15 + 15 = 70 m.

So, the minimum length of the wire to be bought by Puja is 70 m.
