Dr. S. Radhakrishnan became the President of India in 1962. Dr. Zakir Hussain became the fourth President of India in 1967 but he did not complete his term and died in the office and the then Vice-President resigned his post to contest presidential elections and he became the fifth President of India in 1969. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed succeded V.V. Giri in 1974 but he died in office during his term and N.Sanjeeva Reddy was elected as the president of India in 1977.
