Dear student,
Pyruvic acid has many metabolic fates:-
1) Under aerobic condition it forms acetyl co enzyme A and carbon dioxide.
2) It can be converted to carbohydrate by the process of gluconeogenesis.
3) It can be converted to fatty acid through acetyl coenzyme A
4) It can be converted to amino acid alanine.
5) It can be converted to lactic acid under anaerobic condition..
6) It can produce energy through citric acid cycle under aerobic condition.
