1) The excretory system is important to the human body because of following reasons:
  • Excretory system removes the metabolic wastes from the body.
  • Excretory system also functions to retain salts and from other substances from the body.
  • Excretory system also makes up the chemical composition of blood.
2) The adult human kidney is measured about 10-13 cm long, 5-7.5 cm wide and 2-2.5 cm thick. They are located at the back of the upper abdominal area on the both sides of the body (left and right).
