Q.7. How can you help in reducing the problem of waste disposal? Give any two methods.

Improper waste disposal may create serious negative environmental impacts like infectious diseases, land and water pollution, obstruction of drains, and loss of biodiversity.

1. We reduce the problem of waste disposal by minimizing the use of disposable articles and use of those materials which can easily be recycled.
2. The two methods for reducing the problem of waste disposal are:-

• Sorting out biodegradable and nonbiodegradable wastes and then dumping the biodegradable wastes at the sites for landfilling or at sites to be converted into manure.
• Nonbiodegradable waste is converted into ash through incineration by burning.
