Solution

Dear student,

A body is moving with initial velocity u ms1and acceleration a it moved 100m in 10sec and 150m in (10+10)=20secS=ut+12at2For 100m100=u×10+12×a×102100=10u+50au+5a=10 --(1)For 150m in 20 sec150=u×20+12×a×202150=20u+200a4u+40a=30 --(2)solving (1) and (2) u+5a=10 ]×8 8u+40a=80 4u+40a=30- - - 4u=50 u=504 u=252 u=12.5m/s thus the initial velocity is 12.5m/sec
