Q. A vernier has 10 divisions and they are equal to 9 divisions of main scale in length . If the main scale is calibrated in mm, what is its least count ?
Ans. 0.01 cm.

Here in this case ,
9 divisions means 10 x (least count unit ) = 1 x ( caliberation unit )
If 10 unit = 1 mm,
1 unit = 0.1cm
or 10 = 0.01cm
