Solution
The correct option is C 2 and 3 only Explanation:
The President of India can be impeached for the ‘violation of the Constitution. Following is the impeachment procedure:
Charges (signed by one-fourth of members of the initiated House) for the removal will be initiated in a Parliament House (any of the house). Hence Statement 1 is incorrect.
A 14 days notice should be given to the President.
The initiated house will pass the impeachment resolution by a majority of two-thirds of the total membership of that House and it is sent to the other House.
The second house will investigate the charges. The President has the right to appear and to be represented at such an investigation. Hence Statement 2 is correct.
If the other House also sustains the charges and passes the impeachment resolution by a majority of two-thirds of the total membership, then the President stands removed from his office from the date on which the resolution is so passed.
Statement 3 is correct.
Till now no Indian President is impeached.
