Because, -Q has smaller magnitude , Hence electric field will be zero at a point close to -Q and point will lies along the line joing the charges and left side of of -Q.To find the location of this point let the distace between the chrges be r and the distance of the point at which field is zero be x from -Q . Hence distance of the point from the +2Q will be r+x.To get zero fieldkQx2=2kQr+x21x2=2r+x21x=2r+x x=r2-1 , Left of -Q
