Angle subtended by the hands at 8’o clock = ${240}^{\circ }$ Every minute, the minute hand gains 5.5 degrees over the hour hand. We need the time at which the hands are at 180˚ with each other.

So, for the minute hand to gain ${60}^{\circ }=\frac{60}{5.5}=\frac{120}{11}$
So, the time at which this occurs is $\frac{120}{11}$ minutes past 8’o clock.
