There are total 24 years from 15th January, 1956 (Leap year) to 15th January, 1980. Total Odd-days = 24 + 24/4 = 30 = 2 Odd-Days. Hence, 15th January, 1980 was Friday + 2 = Sunday. Now, in a Leap-year, the months of January and July have the same calendar. Hence, 15th July, 1980 was a Sunday as well.
