Q. In a Vernier scale of vernier calipers has 50 divisions which coincide with 49 divisions of main scale . Find vernier constant . Given there are 20 main scale division per cm.

Dear Student

It is becuase there are 20 main scale division per cm. So value of 1 main division is 1/20 =0.05 cm

So value of 1/50 main scale division is 1/50 x 0.05 cm = 0.001 cm
