Solution

Dear student,
Here is the solution of your asked query:
Total number of votes polled = 6,00,000Number of votes declared invalid=6,00,000×10100=60000Then number of valid votes = 6,00,000-60000 = 540000So, number of votes that candidate got=40% of 540000 = 540000×40100=216000Therefore, number of valid votes polled in the favour of candidate = 216000
