‘LaQshya’ programme of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare aims at improving the quality of care in the labour room and maternity Operation Theatre (OT). The goal is to reduce preventable maternal and newborn mortality, morbidity and stillbirths associated with the care around delivery in the Labour room and Maternity OT and ensure respectful maternity care.

The following are the objectives of the scheme:
1. To reduce maternal and newborn mortality & morbidity due to APH (Antepartum Haemorrhage), PPH (Postpartum Haemorrhage), retained placenta, preterm, preeclampsia & eclampsia, obstructed labour, puerperal sepsis, newborn asphyxia, and sepsis, etc.

2. To improve Quality of care during the delivery and immediate postpartum care, stabilization of complications and ensure timely referrals, and enable an effective two- way follow-up system.

To enhance satisfaction of beneficiaries visiting the health facilities and provide Respectful Maternity Care (RMC) to all pregnant women attending the public health facility

स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय के लक्ष्य(LaQshya) कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य प्रसव कक्ष और प्रसूति ऑपरेशन थियेटर (ओटी) में देखभाल की गुणवत्ता में सुधार करना है।इसका उद्देश्य है प्रसव कक्ष और प्रसूति ओटी में प्रसव के दौरान देखभाल से जुड़े रोके जाने वाले मातृत्व और नवजात मृत्यु दर, रोगों की संख्या और मृतजन्म को कम करना और सम्मानजनक प्रसव देखभाल सुनिश्चित करना है।

योजना के उद्देश्य निम्नलिखित हैं:
1. एपीएच (एंटेपार्टम हेमोरेज), पीपीएच (पोस्टमार्टम हेमोरेज)प्लेसेंटा, प्रीटरम, प्रीक्लेम्पसिया,एक्लंम्पसिया,बाधित प्रसव,प्यूपरल सेप्सिस, नवजात एस्फाइक्सिया और सेप्सिस के कारण होने वाली मातृत्व और नवजात मृत्यु दर को कम करना।

प्रसव के दौरान देखभाल की गुणवत्ता में सुधार और तत्काल प्रसवोत्तर देखभाल, जटिलताओं के स्थिरीकरण और समय पर रेफरल सुनिश्चित करना, और एक प्रभावी दो-तरफा अनुवर्ती प्रणाली को सक्षम करना।

स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं का रुख करने वाले लाभार्थियों की संतुष्टि को बढ़ाने और सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य सुविधा का उपयोग करने वाली सभी गर्भवती महिलाओं को सम्मानजनक मातृत्व देखभाल (आरएमसी) प्रदान करना।
