Q. Two water taps together can fill a tank in 6 hours. The tap of larger takes 9 hours less than the smaller one to fill the tank separately. Find the time in which each tap cam separately fill the tank.

Let volume of the tank be V.
Let the time taken by pipe of smaller radius to fill the tank be x hours.
∴The time taken by pipe of larger radius to fill the tank is (x – 9) hours.


∴ Time taken by pipe of smaller radius of fill the tank is 18 hours.
Time taken by pipe of larger radius
