Q. Using mirror formula show that
An object placed between the pole and the focus of a concave mirror produces a virtual and enlarged image
We know 1/u + 1/v = 1/f
For Concave mirror , f = - ive so f < 0 and u = - ive , so u < 0
There fore 1/v=1/f - 1/u Since u < f < 0
Threfore 1/f - 1/u > 0
or 1/v > 0 or v > 0
This show that the image is to the right of concave mirror.
Now m = -v/u
Since v > 0 and u < 0
Therefore virtual and enlarged image is formed.
