Q) We should not try to put out a fire in an electrical appliance by pouring water on it. why?

A) This is because water such as tap water , salt water has ions and salts which can conduct electricity (except distilled water ) . Pouring water such as tap water will increase the fire caused by the electrical appliances it increases the flow of electric current which produces more light and heat (fire). It can also cause serious injuries to the person pouring the water which may also lead to his / her death.

We should not try to put out a fire in an electrical appliance by pouring water on it because the water is conductor of electricity and can leads to short circuit and one can get electric shock
