• The Tummalappalle uranium mine in the Cuddapah district of Andhra Pradesh has the potential to become the largest uranium mine in the world, according to the Department of Atomic Energy.
• With an investment of up to Rs 6,000 crore, the mine at Kannampalli will beat the nearby Tummalapalli mines and the Turammdih mine of Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) in Jharkhand, which produce 3,000 tonnes each.
• The ore body of Kanampalli and Tummalapalli mining block in Kadapa is spread over a length of 21 kilometres.
