Solution

The correct option is B 1, 3 and 4 only

Explanation:

  • In the carbon cycle, carbon dioxide moves from the atmosphere to plants. In the atmosphere, carbon is attached to oxygen in a gas called carbon dioxide (CO2). During the process of photosynthesis, carbon dioxide is absorbed from the air to produce carbohydrates for plant growth. Carbon moves from plants and animals to soils.
  • When plants and animals die, their organic matter decay bringing the carbon into the ground. Each time we exhale, we also release carbon dioxide gas (CO2) into the atmosphere. Animals and plants need to get rid of carbon dioxide gas through a process called respiration.
  • Volcanic eruptions release various gases into the atmosphere, primarily water vapour, carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide.
